February 2009 - Garron Point
13th February 2009
I left early on Wednesday morning heading for Garron Point, which is just south of Cushendun. The forecast was good, so I was excited as I have visited this location before.
I was joined by Steven Dickie, who is an accomplished photographer from the surrounding area, and my usual side kick.....Cathal Donnelly!
Unfortunately the morning started with alot of rain , but luckily not much when we got to Garron Point. It is a beautiful place with lovely rock formations in addition to beautiful headlands on either side with lots of different textures.
From there, we made our way to Glenarrif, which is one of the "Nine Glens" of Antrim. This place is very special with lots of different waterfalls and walkways.
As the day progressed, the weather and light continued to get better, so as we approached the Giants Causeway, I was really optomistic!
To date, I have never managed to capture a really great photograph of the Causeway, so felt today was the day !
I already had an idea where I was going to compose my shoot from my last visit here, so I set up and bracketed about twenty different exposures from slightly different compositions and while I was there, the light continued to get better.
I knew I was going to get some great shots!
I have processed a couple already and I'm delighted with the results, These can be found in "new pictures around Ireland portfloio" . Please let me know what you think.
Best Wishes
Sean.
